Meet The Electric Muscle Cruiser That Wants You To Commute In Style

Summary

  • European bikemaker Rezon has launched the Bohemia electric motorcycle.
  • Rezon’s Bohemia offers long range, fast charging, and likable features.
  • Priced at around $12,600, the stylish Bohemia provides high-quality specs and design for commuters.

Broken European manufacturers being revived by Chinese companies is nothing new. But Europe’s Alrendo—a not-so-popular EV maker—took the other way around. In 2023, Alrendo Europe fell out with Alrendo China, leaving the company in shambles. Fortunately, it has returned with a new name, Rezon. Alrendo wasn’t known for quality or reliability, and in its second stint, the aim is to fix these things — at least we hope so — with its new flagship electric motorcycle: the Bohemia.

Will this bike heal our range anxieties? It surely looks like it!

A Torquey Motor With Likable Performance Numbers

Torque Output: 99.57 LB-FT

The Rezon Bohemia has a few selling points in the motor department, including a long range, easy maintenance, and fast charging. It’s powered by a belt-driven motor that produces enough power (~26 horsepower) for your city duties, along with a buttload of torque (~100 pound-feet). What further makes the small motor appealing is the range. Rezon claims this bike can do 161 miles on a single charge, thanks to the 15.3 kWh battery pack. Plus, the battery pack uses a zero-weld assembly method, so it can be easily disassembled, repaired, and recycled. The company claims it has never had a battery cell fail, but if yours does, it can swap out a single cell instead of the entire module.

Then there’s the state-of-the-art charging system. It’s claimed to be the first bike fully compatible with both Type 2 AC and CCS DC charging stations, charging at 6.6 kW using both current types. Accordingly, it can charge from 0 to 80 percent in 90 minutes (100 percent takes 150 minutes). Honestly, that’s pretty good for an entry-level bike.

Packed With Other Goodies And A Stylish Design

Rezon Bohemia
Rezon

Apart from a perky motor with decent charging times, the Rezon Bohemia comes with several other niceties. To start with, it gets two displays as standard, both customizable. You can control the power delivery with three riding modes: Eco, City, and Sport. Traction control, ABS, and cruise control are also standard inclusions.

As for the underpinnings, you won’t be disappointed. This one is not an AliExpress EV like the Alrendo TS Bravo. The bike gets beefy USD forks, Nissin calipers with floating discs up front, and Michelin Road 6 GT tires. We also dig the multi-spoke wheels.

Solid-State Batteries And Motorcycles: Everything We Know So Far

This promises to be the greatest thing for electric motorcycles since the IC engine. We run down all the information on it.

Design-wise, one look at the bike, and you’d mistake it for something a lot bigger than it actually is. It has a neo-retro power cruiser stance. The front is muscular, thanks to chunky tires, forks, and bodywork. At the back is a sleek tushy that puts the fat rear tire (for the segment) on full display. The LED headlamp rounds off its design. It’s a pretty motorcycle that you wouldn’t mind pulling up to work in.

All that said, only time will tell whether the new Rezon Bohemia can overcome the flaws of Alrendo TS Bravo. So far, it’s doing that TS Bravo came with no-brand calipers and wooden-feeling Timsum tires). But how this package will fair in the real world is what we really want to know.

Rezon Bohemia Pricing And Availability

Starting MSRP: €11,869 ($12,674)

Rezon Bohemia
Rezon

Rezon has priced this electric motorcycle at close to €12,000 (including VAT) for its home country, the Czech Republic. It will begin its deliveries in May 2025. While this price tag may seem too much, it’s relatively cheaper compared to other bikes in its segment. Heck, it’s not even that bad a price by American market standards, especially if all the claims check out in reality. Speaking of the U.S. market, we’re yet to receive an official confirmation on whether this is coming here.
