Key Takeaways

  • TJ Hunt’s crew member, Anthony, takes over the YouTube channel and documents what it’s like to work for a popular automotive YouTuber.
  • Anthony starts his day with a gym session and drives a Tesla Model 3 Performance to TJ Hunt’s workshop.
  • Anthony shares his love for the Toyota Supra, plans to get an F80 BMW M3, and talks about his role in content creation for TJ Hunt.

There are more automotive YouTubers than ever producing some great content. YouTubers like Shmee150, TJ Hunt, Larry Chen, and more create a wide range of videos for the platform. However, there are people behind the scenes who help these YouTubers create their content and publish it to the rest of us. TJ Hunt has therefore decided to create a video documenting the life of someone who works for him and helps him to create and perfect his content.

With TJ busy rebuilding his broken Nissan R34 GT-R sports car, and building the GT-T he is giving away, he has entrusted his crew to take over his TJ Hunt Clips channel for a few days. Anthony is the first member of his crew to takeover the channel and produce a vlog, as he works through what it is like to work for one of the most prolific automotive YouTubers on the platform.

TJ Hunt has over 2.25 million subscribers on YouTube, and his videos get hundreds of thousands of views every day. But we so rarely see what goes on behind the scenes to make them, or to help TJ’s projects at his workshop.

The Gym Starts The Day Before The Real Work Begins

How Anthony Works Through A Day For TJ Hunt

  • Hitting the gym and grabbing coffee is part of Anthony’s early morning routine
  • Anthony commutes to TJ Hunt’s workshop in a Tesla Model 3 Performance
  • Anthony checks in on the guys at the workshop to see how they are progressing
  • There is room for downtime on the racing simulator

Anthony hits the gym first thing in the morning before getting to work with the business of the day. Anthony is driving to work in his Tesla Model 3 Performance and chats about it on his commute, admitting he is not a Tesla fanboy and that it is a soulless car. The vlogger says that his heart lies with Porsche and BMW, and the Tesla was just to become a solid daily driver when he moved to Los Angeles.

Before he heads to the workshop, Anthony grabs a coffee to set him up for the work ahead of him, as many of us probably do. After that, Anthony heads over to the workshop to begin his work for TJ. While at the workshop, he takes advantage of the washing facilities to give the Tesla Model 3 a bit of a clean. He also reveals it on a lease which is set to expire in three months, so he is busy debating what car it is he has next. He reveals that the cars he has narrowed down to are an F80 BMW M3, or a Mk5 Toyota Supra.

The Mk5 Supra is of course the latest iteration of Toyota’s sports car, which made its return to the lineup a few years ago. The base GR Supra has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine under the hood with 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Toyota says that if you go up to the 3.0-liter six-cylinder Supra, you will get 382 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque. The F80 generation of the BMW M3 was first unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in 2014. The six-cylinder engine under the hood is good for 425 hp according to the manufacturer.

What impressed him the most was how comfortable it was, the sound it made, and how the Supra handled. While many gearheads might prefer the manual Supra, Anthony says the eight-speed automatic is perfect for the freeway and it allows you to get some very high MPG figures. He admits his surprise at how good the gas mileage was.

However, the vlogger says that his heart is set on the F80 M3, and it is a car he has wanted for a very long time. With the Tesla Model 3 now clean, Anthony decides to take some downtime hop into a simulator, and have some fun. He hops into a drift car on what looks like Assetto Corsa, with the simulator built into the proper interior of a car. As we can see from the video on YouTube, working for a YouTuber isn’t just work and no fun. Anthony also talks about how he got into the world of content creation in one of the video’s last segments.
