2024 Jeep Renegade: Trims, Features, And Pricing Explained

[ad_1]

Jeep is an automaker that has been a world-leading maker of off-road vehicles, pickup trucks, and SUVs. With legendary vehicles in their line-up. From the World War II Willys Jeep which led to the creation of the Wrangler, to the luxury SUVs, electric SUVs, and hybrid SUVs of today, Jeep has been a class leader for some time now.

In today’s market, buying trends and requirements for SUVs are changing, so, like many other automakers, Jeep has had to up their game and get very serious about the hybrid SUV and electric off-road SUV market. What they have come up with is the latest model year of the Jeep Renegade, which boasts tonnes of great off-road features, rugged but modern styling, a broad range of powertrain configurations, and impressive trims.

Unfortunately, the 2024 Jeep Renegade, with all its quirky features, has been pulled from the American and Canadian market due to falling popularity over the last decade and will only be sold in Mexico, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific. We have collected information from a range of sources, so you can find out the most important data about the 2024 Jeep Renegade, which includes the new trim options, how much it costs, and the features that are included.

In order to give you the most up-to-date and accurate information possible, the data used to compile this article was sourced from Jeep, and other authoritative sources, including Car & Driver for road testing, Top Gear, Stellantis Media, Hot Cars, and NHTSA.

Multiple High Spec’d Trims Available

The 2024 Jeep Renegade line-up consists of two versions and four trims. With an MRSP of $38,500 for the base trim, it is not the most expensive SUV for sale this year.

All versions and trims of the 2024 Jeep Renegade showcase Jeep’s signature front grille, rugged design, plenty of cargo space of up to 50.8 cubic feet, decent towing ability, and off-roading and towing prowess that more than competes with other auto-makers that are producing electric SUVs with good towing capacities.

What Are Each Jeep Renegade Version And Trim Features

The first thing to know is that depending on what version of the 2024 Jeep Renegade you are looking at will depend on what trim you can subsequently get. The two versions to choose from are the Renegade E-Hybrid and the Renegade 4XE Plug-In. Trims available for the Renegade E-Hybrid are the Altitude and Summit trims, and trims available for the Renegade 4XE Plug-In version are the Overland and Trailhawk trims.

Jeep Renegade Altitude Trim

The Altitude trim is the base trim and features a mild-hybrid powertrain, boasts front-wheel drive, and according to Jeep, can achieve a combined MPG rating of 56 MPG. The Altitude trim as standard features electro-chromatic rearview mirrors, auto-high-beam lights, side roof rails, a thin-film transistor 10.25-inch instrument cluster, full-HD 10.1-inch touchscreen display, cruise control, and LED tail lights. This trim also includes some very good tech and safety features, but we will cover that a little later.

Jeep Renegade Summit Trim

The Summit trim boasts the same powertrain, driveline, and MPG rating but at a slightly higher cost. The big differences are what is included as standard, which would usually be an optional extra. The Winter Package comes standard and includes a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel and heated front seats.

This trim also boasts 18-inch alloys with winter tires, adaptive cruise control, solar-control exterior glass, and key-fob-controlled windows. For the extra money, the Renegade Summit trim gives you that little bit more in the way of comfort, convenience, styling, and luxury.

The Overland Trim

The first trim for the Jeep Renegade 4XE Plug-In is the Overland. Featuring a plug-in hybrid engine and more impressive standard features such as all-speed traction control, and an electric motor that, according to Jeep, can achieve 26 miles of zero-emission silently, the Overland is a noticeable next step up. Charging of the 11.4KW battery is completed with a Mode 3 charging cable and can be charged at public charging points.

The pokey electric motor can produce up to 60 extra horsepower to help you get up to a reasonable top speed in a decent time for a larger vehicle. Safety features that are showcased as standard on the Overland trim include rain-sensing wipers, speed limiter, lane departure warning, and incandescent tail lights. Jeep has also mentioned that the ground clearance is higher for this trim compared to both of the trims of the Renegade E-Hybrid, but no credible information is available about the exact amount.

The High Spec Trailhawk

The highest spec’d trim that Jeep offers for the 2024 Jeep Renegade is the Trailhawk trim, which is also a plug-in hybrid SUV. Boasting a more powerful trim-specific powertrain, according to Jeep, the Trailhawk can achieve a maximum of 30 miles under electric power thanks to the electric motor that has a maximum power rating of 45KW.

Standard features include an upgraded interior that boasts red stitching and lettering on the upholstery, an optional leather interior, and the same safety and infotainment features as the Overland. The big difference between the trims is the power output from the powertrain and the Trailhawk’s far superior off-road setup. As we are covering off-road capabilities a little bit further down, we will only mention that there is a huge number of added extras that feature on the Trailhawk that will make any trail bunny smile with glee.

Lots Of Great Features Inside And Out

All versions and trims of the 2024 Jeep Renegade are bulky, brutish, and look like they are very capable off-road. Though not voted one of the best off-road hybrid SUVs like one of Jeep’s other beastly creations, it is still very capable and hardy.

2024 Jeep Renegade Off-Roading Features

Though no information is available from Jeep about ride height, angle of attack, or clearance, they have confirmed that all Jeep Renegade trims will have a wheelbase of 101 inches and a width of 71 inches. So, it is not the biggest SUV, but it was designed to be a small little beast.

As the name would suggest, the Trailhawk trim is the real off-road menace out of the four trims. It has been trail tested by Jeep and boasts cargo tie-downs, a reversible and height-adjustable cargo floor, and, most importantly, for navigating the rocky trails, a skid plate-protected fuel tank, transmission, transfer case, and front suspension.

Additionally, you can also benefit from Selec-Terrain to make the tricky terrain a bit more manageable at your convenience. The Trailhawk also boasts 17-inch aluminum off-road wheels with off-roading tires. From what Jeep has released about it, it really does look to be a great little SUV that was actually made to be taken off-road, unlike some SUVs that weren’t really built for off-road terrain.

2024 Jeep Renegade Tech Features

Like all modern cars, you can expect there to be a certain level of technology and convenient features that not only make your drive easier, but also safer. Maybe not at the same tech level as some luxury cars that boast the most technology, but still ample.

All trims come equipped with Apple and Android connectivity, safety features such as lane departure warning, a post-collision safety system, electric heated mirrors, and a remote control locking system. The higher the trim you purchase, the more you get as standard. You can purchase the Comfort Package for the Overland and Trailhawk which also boasts windscreen wiper de-icing tech.

With all trims, you can also benefit from the Jeep concierge service which is called My Assistant and connects you to road-side assistance wherever you are. Through the Jeep App, you can also connect to your Jeep and keep an eye on where you have parked it if someone is trying to get into it, and where the nearest compatible charging station is for your Renegade.

Which Trim Of 2024 Jeep Renegade Should You Choose?

All trims of the 2024 Jeep Renegade can be upgraded with a range of paint jobs, optional packages, Mopar extras, which unfortunately won’t make it one of the most collectible Mopar cars, and interior design additions, but depending on the kind of driving you are looking to do, will certainly be a factor, in what trim you buy. Each has its own strong points and can offer you a different driving experience.

If you are looking for an efficient city car and mainly do your driving in the cities or around town, the Altitude trim does offer a very good combined MPG, has a torquey little engine that would be ample in stop-start traffic, an electric motor that can carry you a reasonable distance in traffic and has all the simple convenience, comfort and tech features that a base trim of any modern car should offer. That, along with the rugged Jeep styling, you can have the best of both worlds.

If you are looking for a little more luxury but can’t decide between the plug-in hybrid or mild-hybrid engine, both with some benefits compared to fully electric powertrains, then both the Summit and Overland trims would be sensible choices for you. Both boast a good electric range, both have slightly more convenient features than the Altitude trim, and both still make a statement on the road. The main advantage of the Overland trim is that it comes with electric-all-wheel drive as standard, so it can potentially give you that added bit of control, stopping power, and acceleration power.

There is no doubt that if you want to hit the off-road trails, then the trim for you is the 2024 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk. With all the mentioned off-road features, standard electric-all-wheel-drive, a more powerful engine, which still has very good economical credentials and a beefier and more domineering road presence, it is easy to see that this is the true off-road Jeep of this year’s lineup. Of course, you can add extras to the other trims until you get near this trim’s level when it comes to off-road capability, but it would be easier to go straight for this trim.
