The car the changed the face of Audi

Late in 2023, the last of 662,762 Audi TTs rolled out of the company’s factory in Győr, Hungary, where the iconic coupe (and roadster) has been built since production began in 1998. It was – likely – a Final Edition model and while much had changed over the intervening 25 years, the TT remained as recognisable today as it did when the original concept first wowed crowds at the Frankfurt motor show in 1995.

It was a triumphant moment of relief for Wenzel, and as he would later recall “…  the greatest praise was when the trade press noted appreciatively that not much had changed from the study to series model, although we did, of course, have to adapt many details due to the technical specifications for the series version, including the proportions.”
