If you’re in the market for an exclusive track-spec sports bike, KTM has just dropped a pie you’d want a piece of. It’s taken the wraps off the 2024 RC 8C, which brings Team Orange’s MotoGP learnings into a package you and us can enjoy. We first saw the RC 8C in 2021, followed by its more powerful version in 2022. The 2024 version promises to be the most exclusive yet, though. Here’s everything you need to know.

889cc, Twin-Cylinder Powerhouse With 135-HP
The RC 8C carries forward the 889cc, twin-cylinder powerhouse we saw in the previous version. It’s the same engine from the 890 Duke but dialed to 11 with loads of internal upgrades. We’re talking about new valves, connecting rods, larger 48mm throttle bodies, and new pistons, along with a titanium racing exhaust from Akrapovic. All these help the engine churn out 132 horsepower (135 PS) and 72.2 pound-feet–a sizable 13 horsepower increment over the 890 Duke R.
Since that’s ample juice for you to high side to the moon, there’s an extensive electronics package at your helm. You can fine-tune the throttle response, traction control, anti-wheelie, engine braking, and quickshifter settings via a factory-spec AIM MXS 1.2 RACE TFT dashboard. This also provides access to AIM RaceStudio–a neat feature to log all your track telemetry (speed, lap times, position on track, engine stats).

Race-Spec WP Apex Pro Suspension And Lightweight Dymag Wheels
Like the engine, the RC 8C has top-shelf underpinnings. It’s built around a chrome-moly trellis chassis that suspends on fully adjustable WP XACT PRO 7543 USD forks and a WP Apex Pro 7746 monoshock. Braking is via race-spec 290 mm disc brakes up top and a 230 mm disc outback, clamped by Brembo Stylema rotors. All this is topped by a set of forged aluminum Dymag wheels to keep the weight in check.
Speaking of heft, the entire bodywork you see here is carved from kevlar and carbon fiber. It’s the same material you see on KTM’s MotoGP race bike and helps the RC 8C weigh in at just 313 pounds (dry). Oh, and to keep the center of gravity balanced, the fuel tank is actually in the tail section. A special mention also goes to the sexy white-orange livery that’s new for 2024. 2023 KTM 1290 Super Duke GT Ride Review: Crazy Good
