Although the Porsche 911 remains gas-powered this year, you can expect it to eventually shift configurations, losing its engine and exhaust pipe along the way. As of 2024, we have Porsche rapidly developing battery technology and hybrid drivetrains for its customers, with rumors of the 911 being another concept for electrification to come.
Because Porsche plans to swap gas for battery tech by as much as 80 percent by 2030, we see a pivotal moment for iconic nameplates. The brand has already done rather well in the electric and partial electric segment, with models like the Taycan, Panamera E-Hybrid, Cayenne E-Hybrid, and hopefully, the 911 series. Through these renderings, you can see there are quite a few subtle updates to what we know and love currently in the 911, so it’s certainly a feasible option for Porsche.

Per these renderings, you can see how aerodynamic the 911 EV can be, even if it means a complete internal overhaul. For now, we’ll see the 911 nameplate remain gas-powered, but there will be updates and tweaking as it enters an electric, or at the very least, hybrid era.
