Mercedes-Benz G580 with EQ Technology: Estimated Cost and Rivals for 2025, Mercedes-Benz hasn’t revealed the price of the 2025 G580 with EQ Technology, but based on the price differential between standard Merc vehicles and their EQ equivalents, we can calculate that it will cost between $12k and $15k more than the current gas G-Class. The AMG version, which is more similar in output to the all-electric G-Wagon, costs $183,000. The MSRP of the 2024 G-Class is $143,000.A “base” G580 should cost about the same as the AMG G63, if not more, considering the G580’s EQ Technology and its extensive technology. However, considering the extra standard equipment that the Edition One vehicles come with, it’s more possible that the price of the G580 will exceed $200k.
It’s difficult to identify competitors; while there are several electric SUVs available today, few meet the G-Class’s requirements for prestige, off-road prowess, and a luxurious cabin. The closest in this short is the Rivian R1S, which will set you back about $92,000 before any options for a quad-motor arrangement similar to the electric G-Class.

The Mercedes-Benz G580 with EQ Technology boasts a boxy design that benefits from the facelift the gas G-Class received for 2025. Although the electric version is well-known, the carmaker claims there are almost endless customizing options. The classic round headlamps and four-louvered grille are still present, however, purchasers have the option to replace the grille with a black panel. Adaptive multibeam LED headlights are standard, but there’s also an animated LED light strip and a chrome grille surround optional.

The conventional spare wheel is replaced by a square Design Box fixed to the rear door of the Edition One vehicles that will be available in the United States starting in 2025. It makes it possible to store extra off-roading gear, tools, and the charging wire neatly.
The new Mercedes-Benz G580 electric SUV comes standard with the AMG Line exterior option, which gives it running boards, a 20-inch AMG 10-spoke alloy wheel, flared wheel arches, and stainless steel illuminated door sill panels.
