2025 GWM Haval H6 given a facelift

Ahead of its expected debut at the Beijing motor show this week, images have emerged of GWM’s new-look Haval H6.

The 2025 GWM Haval H6 SUV looks likely to receive a refreshed front-end look, seemingly borrowing some cues from Hyundai’s design book – and it could eventually make its way to local showrooms.

New images of the updated H6 show a new front grille with a square pattern, along with GWM’s latest Haval logo.

While GWM Australia wouldn’t comment on the facelift at this stage, the updated Haval H6 could be offered for a brief period before the SUV is eventually replaced with what is sold in China as the Haval Xiaolong Max, first revealed at the Shanghai motor show in 2023.

The images were officially released by Haval within days of the new-look Haval H6 appearing in leaked online, thanks to official government approval documents.

GWM first showed off its new logo at the 2023 Shanghai motor show, and has been slowly rolled out across its model range – including on the facelifted Jolion.

The Haval H6’s new, reshaped grille appears to have taken some influence from the Hyundai Palisade and Tucson, with large chrome blocks replacing the cross-hatch look on the current model (below).

Also new are the large lighting strakes which appear below the headlights – also reminiscent of a Palisade.

The rear of the Haval has also received major changes, with a redesign of the tail-lamps – changing from a single dog-bone-shaped unit to more traditional dual light units, with the new logo also featuring.

The company has also removed the chrome strip above the number plate holder. The Chinese documents show the updated Haval H6 is 50mm longer, at 4703mm.

Inside there is a new steering wheel, a larger infotainment touchscreen, and seemingly a new centre console.

Local media claim engine options are expected to remain the same, with the standard Haval H6 currently powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 150kW and 320Nm – and a hybrid version also available with its own look, alongside a coupe-inspired GT version.

The 2025 GWM Haval H6 is expected to make its public debut at the Beijing motor show this week.
