Authorities said the car collided with a parked vehicle, which resulted in one person trapped inside the rolled SUV.

A photo of a Mitsubishi ASX rolled over on a footpath has emerged online – with commenters questioning how the situation unfolded.

The incident occurred along Seaview shops in Beaumaris – a suburb approximately 20km southeast of Melbourne – at approximately 11:00am on 17 April 2024.

In the photos – uploaded to Instagram by Sandringham Parliament member Brad Rowswell – the SUV can be seen flipped on its right side, with orange cones set up around the perimeter while police, firefighters and paramedics work on the scene.

A Victoria Police spokesperson told Drive the Mitsubishi SUV crashed into a parked vehicle, which led to the vehicle rolling over and landing on the pavement – with no serious injuries sustained as a result of the incident.

A spokesperson for Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) told Drive crews were called to a collision that occurred on Balcombe Road – with FRV confirming one person was trapped in the vehicle, and no fires were started.

Firefighters were able to rescue the unnamed individual from the crashed car and they were later assessed by paramedics.

A worker from Meat at Robinson’s who saw the incident unfold told Drive: “I heard a big bang [as] I was servicing a customer and then [another] big bang and I turned to look and I saw the car moving towards the window.

“I had to run to the back because I thought the [vehicle] was going to go through the window.”
