Let’s face it, Star Wars is one of the most popular movie franchises in the world. It has billions of die-hard fans, which makes it a business venture worth looking into. And this is an idea that has now struck Japanese giant Honda. The company has whipped up two special editions of its globally renowned mini moto, the Monkey. Oh, and don’t worry, there’s one for the Dark Side and one for the Light Side.

As mentioned, the Star Wars edition comes in two flavors: the Light Side and the Dark Side. Starting with the former, it boasts a shiny silver-white livery, topped by light blue accents on the tank and wheels. Heck, even the handlebar grips are blue. Then, there’s the carbon fiber treatment.

The fuel tank cover has silver carbon fiber treatment on it, and the same can be found on the air box cover. You also get a carbon fiber finish on the side panel, topped with a glow-in-the-dark ‘Monkey’ logo. The final touches come in the form of the Star Wars stickers on the tubular swingarm and a blue tank lid decal.

The Dark Side version takes all of this, and…well..turns it dark. Its fuel tank has an all-black finish with yellow drops to mimic the galaxy, while the side panel has a red carbon fiber finish with glow-in-the-dark graphics. Topping this is a black carbon fiber air box cover and red pinstripes on the wheels. Regardless of the version, you still get chrome treatment on the fenders, mirrors, and exhaust shield.

Kickass aesthetics aside, there are no mechanical changes underneath. The Monkey carries forward the likable 124cc, single-cylinder mill that produces 9.4 horsepower and 8.1 pound-feet. All this reaches the wheel via a five-speed manual transmission. The engine sits inside a tubular chassis, suspended on USD forks and dual shock absorbers. This is topped by 12-inch alloy wheels, each with single disc brakes front and back. All of these are prime reasons for the Monkey’s popularity, as they make it an unintimidating motorcycle perfect for all kinds of riders.

If you’re drooling over the Star Wars edition already, you’re about to be disappointed. That’s because these Honda Monkey versions are limited to Thailand. In fact, the edition itself comes form Honda Thailand rather than the main Japanese HQ. Anyway, only 150 examples will go on sale, each priced at around ~$4,630–just $300 more than the Monkey’s American MSRP. Each bike also comes with a handful of Star Wars goodies to make us even more green with envy:

  • Light saber lamp
  • Pilot jacket
  • Key chain
  • LED light box
