2025 Infiniti QX80: 5 things to know

[ad_1]

The 2025 Infiniti QX80 recently debuted in New York City ahead of the New York International Auto Show. The exterior design moves toward edgy, and the interior gets a lot of sumptuous upgrades. Though we haven’t seen this in person just yet, it appears Infiniti has finally made some luxury upgrades that differentiate it from its Nissan brethren. Then again, we haven’t seen the new Armada just yet either.

At any rate, there’s a lot of info in the 2025 Infiniti QX80 press kit, so we pulled out the five most important things to know.

V-8 says goodbye

Yeah, yeah, insert the sad trombone. The 5.7-liter V-8 has left the building, and in it’s place we’ll see a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6, which gets 50 more horsepower and 130 more pound-feet of torque. That means you’re looking at 450 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. This powertrain also gets a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Really cool tech

We don’t even know where to start with the cool tech. We could dig into the available Infiniti Light Path that projects a winged path on the ground at night. Or we could go straight to the dual 14.3-inch displays behind the wheel and on the center stack. Then again, though there aren’t any photos, the Front Wide View and Invisible Hood View, which show some interesting camera footage on the in-car displays, seem like an excellent innovation.

Other available tech features of note include a Google built-in operating system, a biometric cooling system that detects when second-row passengers are hot and sends cool air to the back, kitschy 64-color ambient lighting, a color head-up display and a Klipsch audio system.

Seats 7 or 8

As a full-size SUV, it’s no surprise the 2025 Infiniti QX80 retains its three-row status. A bench seat will be standard in the second row, and captain’s chairs are available. The third row will seat three. The second-row seats do have available climate controls that include fan speed, temperature and heated-and-cooled seats. Second-row seats feature a walk-in mode that makes access to the third row easier. Plus, second-row seats can be tipped forward with child safety seats still latched in place.

Hands-free driving available

Base trims of the 2025 Infiniti QX80 will get ProPilot Assist 1.1, which combines adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist technology for a hands-on driving experience. The 2.1 system is optional on Luxe and Sensory trims and standard on the Autograph, and this new system allows hands-free driving on certain highways under certain conditions – similar to a Blue Cruise or Super Cruise hands-free system.

2025 Infiniti QX80 starts at $84k

While the design and tech take a huge leap forward, so does the base price. The 2025 Infiniti QX80 price increases by $8k, base to base, including the $1,995 destination fees.

It’s worth noting the base Pure trim goes away, and the Luxe is the new entry to the QX80 lineup. Plus, the new top-tier trim is an four-wheel-drive Autograph.

Pricing for each trim, including destination, is as follows:

  • Pure RWD: $84,445
  • Pure 4WD: $87,545
  • Luxe RWD: $91,545
  • Luxe 4WD: $94,645
  • Sensory 4WD: $102,640
  • Autograph 4WD: $112,590

While the base price increase is $8k, the top end of the QX80 increases by more than $12k.

Bottom line

Day-um the 2025 Infiniti QX80 looks good in photos. Chockfull of tech and premium materials, this is a full-size SUV from Infiniti that I’m finally excited to see hit the market. Time will tell if it’s different enough from the new Armada that’s sure to be revealed soon, but we’re hopeful this is the start of a new premium direction for the brand that differentiates it from Nissan.
