2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition farewells V8

Jeep’s V8-powered Wrangler will soon be no more as Final Edition of Rubicon 392 revealed.

Jeep’s V8-powered Wrangler will be no more, with the Rubicon 392 Final Edition to see out the beefy off-roader with added flare and in exclusive numbers.

Only 3700 units will be produced globally, with the US and Canada accounting for the bulk of production (3300 and 300 units respectively), leaving the last 100 vehicles for global markets.

However, the Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition is made exclusively in left-hand-drive form, meaning none will arrive in Australia.

To stand the Final Edition apart from the rest of the Rubicon 392 range, Jeep has added variant-specific hood and fender decals, but the most head-turning feature is the bronze-coloured 17-inch beadlock wheels wrapped in 35-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tyres.

Inside, the limited-run Wrangler also scores Black Nappa leather and power-adjustable front seats, as well as Mayan gold stitching throughout.

However, a unique shifter medallion and swing-gate plaque are the biggest giveaways inside the cabin of the Final Edition that allude to its special nature.

Off-road fans will also welcome the standard inclusion of a 3629kg-capacity winch, half-inch-lifted suspension, heavy-duty rock sliders, front bulbar, and an 83-piece tool kit.

Of course, the headlining feature in the Wrangler Rubicon 392 is its 6.4-litre Hemi petrol V8 engine, punching out a sizeable 350kW and 637Nm, which easily outmuscles the 292kW/583Nm 3.0-litre twin-turbo petrol V6 found in the Ford Ranger Raptor and the 312kW/597Nm from the same engine in the Ford Bronco Raptor.

With drive sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission, the Final Edition can accelerate from 0-97km/h (0-60mph) in just 4.5 seconds.

As an off-roader however, the latest Jeep also has a two-speed transfer case that enables 4WD High, 4WD Low, 4WD Auto, and Neutral modes, while a lockable differential, beefed-up underbody protection, heavy-duty axles, and an electronic front sway-bar disconnect feature also help when the road gets rough.

Pricing for the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition is set at $US99,995 ($AU153,150), while the local line-up has just been revised and kicks off from $75,950 for the Sport S four-door.
