2024 Lexus LBX price and specs

The smallest Lexus ever built – the 2024 Lexus LBX city SUV – will be priced from more than $50,000 drive-away when it arrives in showrooms on 18 March.

The LBX is the Lexus luxury twin to the Toyota Yaris Cross SUV, and is the smallest model the company sells in Australia, measuring about 4.2 metres long.

Priced from $47,550 plus on-road costs, it is not the cheapest model Lexus Australia sells – which remains the $46,085 plus on-roads UX200 Luxury petrol – but it is the brand’s cheapest hybrid, undercutting the $54,320 plus on-roads UX250h Luxury 2WD.

The top-of-the-range LBX Sports Luxury all-wheel drive (AWD) is the most expensive vehicle to be based on the Toyota Yaris platform, at $56,990 plus on-road costs, estimated to translate to more than $60,000 drive-away in certain states.

Powering all LBX variants is a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine combined and electric motors for 100kW combined, up from 85kW in the Yaris Cross in Australia.

The all-wheel-drive Sports Luxury powers the rear wheels with another electric motor, rather than a mechanical connection to the front axle and engine.

It is the first three-cylinder Lexus, the first Lexus SUV to be sold only as a hybrid, and tied with the defunct Lexus CT200h hatchback as the company’s least powerful model.

The LBX measures 4190mm long, 1825mm wide and 1545mm tall, on a 2580mm wheelbase – 10mm longer overall, 60mm wider, 45mm lower, 20mm longer in wheelbase than the Yaris Cross.

Compared to the UX, the LBX is 305mm shorter bumper to bumper, 15mm narrower and 60mm shorter in wheelbase, but 25mm taller.

Standard features in the LBX Luxury include 18-inch alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, 9.8-inch touchscreen, synthetic leather-look seat trim, heated front seats and a 360-degree camera.

The Sports Luxury adds features such as Ultrasuede and leather-accented upholstery, hands-free parking, a 13-speaker Mark Levinson premium sound system, and ‘active noise control’.

The 2024 Lexus LBX is due to go on sale on March 18.
