Exclusive Rendering Reveals The 6×6 Tesla Cybertruck We Deserve

Tesla’s Cybertruck has made quite a splash in the electric and non-electric markets for many reasons. You have a boxy, almost year 3000 vibe in its design, although looking deeper: Where’s the ruggedness and all-terrain features? Many people have complained this EV pickup doesn’t offer as wild of a ride as they’d like for the $57,390 (RWD) or $76,390 (AWD). Cybertruck is cool, yes, but what if it was transformed into a 6×6 model?

What if Tesla went even further into the off-roading segment and made a beast configuration of this infamous pickup? There are endless opportunities here for the brand, plus the broader EV market, and with this in mind, TopSpeed’s very own digital artist, Rostislav Prokop, we have an idea of what a fully-loaded 6×6 Cybertruck *could* potentially look like.

Of course, these renderings are merely for fun, so there’s no confirmation from Tesla this version of a Cybertruck will ever hit production. After all, we’re still waiting for the standard Cybertruck’s production numbers to increase, plus the brand to iron out some of the issues this model has been experiencing. WOWZA: A 6×6 Cybertruck Is Very Doable

Looking at our in-house renderings of the 6×6 Cybertruck concept, you have an immediate feeling of nostalgia for this design, plus a bit of envy if you’re comparing it to the real-life EV model. First, 6×6 trucks have always been heavy tactical trucks built for military-grade performance. Therefore, a model already as bulky as the Cybertruck doesn’t need much to make the jump to this much cooler version.

Thanks to Rostislav, you can see that the 6×6 configuration offers a bit higher ground clearance, plus a standard pickup truck vibe that so many are after. You also see the sheer size and durability of Cybertruck in these renderings, keeping much of its good qualities while omitting the not-so-great ones. Sometimes, less is more! Oh how we wish Tesla would have remembered this when designing and producing Cybertruck.

One standout feature from our renderings of a 6×6 Cybertruck is that this model would add an extra set of wheels. Typically, Cybertruck has 20-inch wheels, with tires from Goodyear, so adding one more set would make this vehicle not only more stable in rough terrain but also a bit heavier on the road. Extra wheels and tires are usually suited for high load-bearing models, for which a 6×6 would be perfect. However, the Tesla Cybertruck we know and have right now only requires two to technically do its job. Which is….? Any guesses?

With a 6×6 Cybertruck, we would see Tesla add another set of wheels to this truck. You could expect better payload and towing capacity, as well as a more stable drive in off-roading conditions. More wheels = more toting force.

Our 6×6 Cybertruck Looks More Natural

Although the current Cybertruck is neat to look at, much of its feedback has been iffy in regard to its driving and overall mobility on everyday roads and highways. Because of its ultra-bulky configuration and somewhat awkward bed area, Cybertruck feels more like a gag than a true workhorse. That said, through our digital renderings, you can see what an improvement this design makes to the overall vibe of the Cybertruck.

With this version, you can also see what a difference higher ground clearance makes, plus the hollowing out of Cybertruck’s bed. There’s more room for stuff that matters, which to most of us, is a great thing. Current Cybertruck models don’t warrant everyday work and leisure but feel closer to attention-grabbing second or third cars.

We Kept The Lighting The Same

If you take a closer look at our version of a 6×6 Cybertruck EV, you can see key points, including lighting, have remained the same. Because Tesla did a nice job with the front and rear lighting (strip-style), we kept it and instead focused on the more critical components of the pickup truck. One thing that will complement the existing Cybertruck is its commitment to being different. Striking lighting makes for a more dramatic entrance and exit when you’re behind the wheel, which is what the entire idea behind this EV wanted to achieve. Yes, we love Cybertruck front and back-end detailing, so why go ahead and change it? We’re far more interested in making this truck feel end-of-the-world-ready anyway.

A 6×6 EV Would Be The First Of Its Kind

Before gawking further at our digital renderings of a 6×6 Tesla Cybertruck, you want to remember this would be the first of its kind in the electric space. Of course, we don’t see 6×6 models hit any markets often, as they’re more dedicated to military use or concept projects, but it goes without saying this would be monumental. The Cybertruck alone was a MAJOR shift in the electric truck space, making models like the Ford F-150 Lightning and Chevrolet Silverado EV seem almost too conservative. That said, Cybertruck has become an icon for many reasons, positive and negative, so releasing a second wave of off-road-ready configurations would be a great strategy for Elon Musk and his beloved EV company.

Less Passenger Space May Need To Happen In Our Model

Now, before you panic, it’s worth mentioning that to give the world the best 6×6 version of Cybertruck, we may have to slice down some of the rear passenger space and seating. With the current Tesla Cybetruck, you see 63 inches in the front and 62 inches in the rear, plus a hip room of 57.2 inches for front and rear passengers. With a 6×6 model focusing on classic 6×6 architecture, you may see Tesla cut down on rear volume and overall space. This would be pretty standard in any other vehicle, although Cybertruck boasts quite a bit of person-space in its current form. Whatever the case, you can’t have it all.

Let’s Get Dirty, Cybertruck

Because our in-house renderings of what a 6×6 Cybertruck could look like provide a deeper understanding of the true essence of a pickup model, maybe it’s time Tesla takes a page from another manufacturer’s book. Classic design is that way for a reason, and many new models could go back to their roots if they wish to attract a broader audience.

Again, the 6×6 version of Cybertruck is not traditional whatsoever, although it does offer a more work-friendly feel than the current non-6×6 configuration. What Tesla should do in the next generation of this EV is use driver feedback to offer something more people-friendly with its pickup model. Not all drivers want to attract an entire parking lot of attention each time they pull up, and perhaps they’d want to bring their Cybertruck into a work site and show off in other ways than purely aesthetic.

Fewer Antics And More Power, Please

Adding to the above point, our Tesla Cybertruck renderings are a great launching point for what Tesla could do for the next generation of this model. Focusing on the towing, payload, and overall power of this truck can make it appeal more to the everyday truck owner, versus people who buy Cybertruck to simply be seen.
