Infiniti’s constant decrease in market control has all but sentenced the Japanese luxury brand to an early grave. However, they’re still positive that the latest redesigned SUV will revitalize the brand’s public interest and, at least, start Infiniti on the path to recovery. As it stands, Infiniti has suffered losses equating to half of its total sales since 2017.

The steady decrease in Infiniti’s sales can be attributed to a few factors. Chief among them are the dated systems, technology, and mechanics. The reluctance to completely bring their offerings into the modern age has held the brand back from competing with the likes of BMW, Lexus, and the newest Mazda luxury SUVs. Delaying their hybrid and EV efforts has also hurt the brand, as public interest is more focused on advanced power trains, namely electric power.

That said, there is a light at the end of this tunnel; one that may just re-ignite the luxury brand and put it back on the radar. The latest teasers and concept designs regarding the new QX Monograph (showcased at Pebble Beach 2023) and QX Autograph reveal a newly envisioned, futuristic SUV that improves upon one of the brand’s most noted models, the flagship QX80, set to be released in March 2024 with modern tech and an updated design pallet.

With sleek styling and a bold presence, the latest and only new model may be exactly what Infiniti needs to stage a comeback. This modern approach may open doors to more advancements, including hybrid and EV efforts, as well as a more diverse and compelling line-up to come.
