The 2023 King Of The Baggers championship was a pleasant return to the top spots for the Harley-Davidson Factory Race team. While the manufacturer locked out the first three places in the championship, factory racer Kyle Wyman finished third overall. For 2024, the team is ready to fight for even better results with its new Road Glide race bike. Here’s what you need to know.

The new race bike is based on the recently revealed 2024 Road Glide. Accordingly, it has new race bodywork, inspired by the updated Road Glide’s shark-nose fairing. Harley says many of the body panels are carved from forged carbon fiber (the belly pan is the most visible in the images), identical to what we see on the new CVO Road Glide ST. Also new for 2024 is the livery, which now features more of Harley’s signature Legendary Racing Orange color. The Screamin’ Eagle graphics look unchanged, though.

The mechanicals walk the same path as the race-ready bodywork. The race bike employs Harley-Davidson’s 131ci (2,146cc) V-twin crate engine instead of the standard Milwaukee Eight 117 mill. A quick look at Harley’s accessory site suggests the 131ci can produce around 130 horsepower and 135 pound-feet with ease. Considering it joins hands with a full-system Screamin’ Eagle race exhaust and ECU, we have all the reasons to expect a 150-HP peak here.

All that power is no use if you can’t put it to the ground, so Harley-Davidson has equipped its race bike with top-shelf underpinnings. Most notably, it boasts Ohlins FGR upside-down forks up top and dual Ohlins remote reservoir shocks outback. These join hands with forged Marchesini wheels, which wear top-spec Brembo brakes at each end. Exact details remain unclear, as you’d expect.
