Electric Jeep Wagoneer S unveiled, due in Australia 2026

More images of – and the first look inside – the electric Jeep Wagoneer S have been released ahead of production and a launch in Australia.

The Jeep Wagoneer S has been unveiled ahead of its arrival in Australia sometime in 2026, with bold Range Rover-esque styling to match its promised high-performance credentials.

After teaser images were shown last month – along with an official 0-100km/h claim of 3.5 seconds – and leaked pictures were subsequently published online, the Wagoneer S has been formally revealed with more photos of its exterior and interior.

Finished in black, the design of the Wagoneer S – similar in size to a Jeep Grand Cherokee L – is similar in production form to the concept first shown in 2022.

It carries an LED-lit seven bar Jeep front grille that links the slim headlights, and ‘Wagoneer’ lettering across the bonnet.

The side-on view reveals large alloy wheels, trapezoidal wheel arches and more ‘Wagoneer’ lettering on the front doors, while there is an integrated spoiler and a full-width tail-light bar at the rear.

Two images of the Wagoneer S’ cabin reveal a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and four digital colour screens stretching across the dashboard.

They include the driver’s instrument cluster, a pair of stacked central screens – one for infotainment and the other air-conditioning
and similar functions – and another for the front passenger.

There are few buttons apart from those on the steering wheel to operate the 19-speaker McIntosh audio system and other driver-assist technology, while the textured centre console has an electronic park brake.

The second cabin image shows a sculpted ‘Selec Terrain’ central rotary dial in a gloss black setting where five drive modes – Sand, Snow, Eco, Auto and Sport – for its 4xe four-wheel drive system are controlled.

Jeep also says the colour of the ambient cabin lighting is selectable.

The first global electric Jeep – as the small Avenger is not sold in all regions – the Wagoneer S is believed to sit on a STLA Large electric-car platform shared with Maserati, Dodge, Jeep and Alfa Romeo vehicles.

Jeep has confirmed it will have an output of 600hp (447kW) and 0-60mph (96km/h) time of 3.5 seconds, with production commencing in the second quarter of 2024.

The Jeep Recon is expected to share the same electric powertrain as the Wagoneer S – including its 447kW output – and was previously expected to arrive in showrooms ahead of the Wagoneer S.

The Jeep Recon has also been confirmed for Australia, with timing to be confirmed.

Jeep has targeted all cars it sells in Europe to be electric by 2030, and half of its US sales were electric by the same year, with Australia following shortly after.
