The 2025 Chevy Silverado HD will see a few changes such as a new off-road Trail Boss model and adaptive cruise control as standard for the High Country trim — among other things. So, let’s dig in and see what’s new for 2025.
What’s new for 2025 Chevy Silverado HD
For this model year, more safety features are standard, new black-out package and the aforementioned adaptive cruise control, which was just an option for the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD.
Changes for the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD:
- Front and rear park assist available for WT, Custom and LT trims.
- Front and rear park assist standard on HD ZR2.
- Adaptive cruise control standard on High Country.
- Black-Out Package newly available for HD Custom trim.
- New 20-inch wheels for HD Midnight Edition.
Considering when the truck was launched in 2020 that adaptive cruise control wasn’t even available on the Silverado HD, Chevrolet has come a long way in five years. It’s now offered on all HD trims as an available feature, and standard on the High Country.
2025 Chevy Silverado HD Trail Boss
Another change for 2025 is the inclusion of a Trail Boss model, rounding out Chevy’s lineup with each truck class having this trim.
This package is available on LT and LTZ trims and offers a cheaper alternative to the Silverado HD ZR2.
The Silverado HD Trail Boss includes:
- Z71 shocks and suspension package
- Blacked-out front and rear bumpers, trim and badges
- Trail Boss bed decals
- Red recovery hooks
- Unique 20-inch black wheels with OOR tires
- Standard 6.6-liter gasoline V-8 engine
- Optional 6.6-liter Duramax Diesel is optional with 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque
- Standard Allison 10-speed automatic transmission
That’s on top of the standard equipment in the LT and LTZ trim.
The 2025 Silverado HD and Silverado HD Trail Boss will be available in summer of 2024. Pricing will be announced closer to the start of production and you can build and price a model on Chevrolet.com when the time comes.
The bottom line
We have both small and big changes for the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD. The more entry-level Silverado HD Trail Boss package should be a welcome offering for those who just need a little bit more off-road equipment without going all the way to the ZR2 trim.
