V8 buggy from ‘Fast & Furious’ movie listed for sale

One of three surviving off-road buggies – with Holden Commodore SS V8 power – used for filming of the seventh Fast & Furious movie has come up for sale online.

A ‘Fast Attack Buggy’ which starred in the seventh instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise – known as Furious 7, released in 2015 – has been listed for sale online through the Bring A Trailer auction website.

It is one of six examples built to be driven by Jason Statham’s character in the movie – and one of three that survived filming, given the vehicles were used on-screen as a battering ram.

The buggy was custom-built by Universal Studios for its cinema appearance, and is powered by a 6.2-litre General Motors ‘LS3’ V8 engine, as used in the final Holden Commodore SS.

Beneath the grey fibreglass body is a fabricated steel chassis with a steel roll cage, and multi-link suspension at the rear. The engine sends power to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.

The black alloy wheels measure 17 inches in diameter, and are wrapped in 27-inch all-terrain tyres.

There are disc brakes at all four corners, and the off-road racing suspension system makes use of remote reservoir shocks.

Inside, the buggy feature a pair of racing bucket seats with a harness on the driver’s side.

In 2023, another Fast Attack Buggy from Furious 7 was sold at a Barrett-Jackson auction in Arizona for $US38,500 ($AU58,500).
