Chevy Silverado 1500 issues, best trucks

In this first live stream of 2024, Publisher Tim Esterdahl and Managing Editor Jill Ciminillo tackle a number of issues and occasionally go off topic. First up, after discussing Esterdahl’s new workout schedule, the duo dive into known issues for the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500. Spoiler alert: There isn’t anything major.

Another hot topic for this episode centered around the best trucks to buy based on a recent iSeeCars.com study. Looking at odometer readings plus initial purchase price, the study shows the best trucks based on the price paid per 10k miles. While this isn’t going to be the end-all research for purchasing a new truck, it is an interesting place to start.

Other topics on the agenda included the reveal of the VinFast Wild concept truck, whether consumers in America are ready to buy Chinese-made vehicles, frozen EV batteries and the return of the Detroit Auto Show to the month of January. Esterdahl and Ciminillo also touched on the reasons for nearly a month between episodes: Esterdahl managed to catch a nasty bug that lasted 10 days over the holidays and Ciminillo’s father passed away on New Years Day.

Esterdahl and Ciminillo try to do weekly livestreams on YouTube, which are projected out to Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Though this episode aired on Wednesday, they typically keep to a Monday/Tuesday schedule at 8 p.m. EST (when it doesn’t conflict with a major sporting event), so be sure to subscribe to the YouTube channel and follow them on social media for the upcoming live episode timing and topics. You can also catch the episode as a podcast on all your favorite podcasting software — just search for Pickup Truck + SUV Talk.
