We reimagine a Hellcat-inspired fire-breathing Dakota, in this exclusive digital mockup of RAM’s mid-size pickup
With Ram’s re-introduction of the Dakota, consumers could have yet another contender to consider in the mid-size pickup truck segment. Anticipating that the more compact sibling to the ever-popular Ram 1500 could come to market with a wide range of features and trim options, our exclusive 2024 Dakota Hellcat render stretches that vision of the new pickup out of the ‘truck-only’ space and into the hellacious horsepower world of the Hellcat. Head-turning widebody curves that taper in and out along the length of the Dakota’s profile settle in at the tucked rear end and offer a savagely sporty styling beyond most current mid-size options. An immediate standout feature is the aggressively sloped-front hood design with a presumably functional air scoop, reminiscent of the Dodge Demon’s hood that forced air into its Air-Grabber intake. Should the engine bay house horsepower similar to the Challenger’s Hellcat, the Dakota could roar to life with a supercharged 6.2-liter High-Output Hemi V-8 that produces 797 horsepower. Expecting the debut of the Dakota Hellcat would borrow from the iconic Ram 1500’s class-leading, award-winning features and Dodge’s track-minded performance such as Launch Assist and Control, Line Lock, and Race Cool Down, we can only assume this Ram/Dodge offspring would be a beast on the battlefield of the mid-size truck market.
