The the winners for the prestigious NACTOY awards are the Ford Super Duty Truck of the year and the KIA EV9 SUV of the year. Big wins for both.
This annual award brings together a diverse group of journalists to pair down an extensive list of vehicles and judge them based on a variety of factors. Our Managing Editor Jill Ciminillo is one of the 50 NACTOY jurors.
NACTOY awards Ford Super Duty Truck of the Year
NACTOY said in a press release they started with 52 eligible vehicles then winnowed the list to 25 vehicles for their “The Best of 2024″ list. Then, jurors voted to narrow that list to 9 outstanding finalists before declaring a winner today at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac.
The jurors spend hours driving the various vehicles then rating them on “automotive innovation, design, safety, performance, technology, driver satisfaction, user experience and value.”
Overall, the winners were the Ford Super Duty Truck of the Year, KIA EV9 SUV of the Year and Toyota Prius Car of the Year.
Both Ford and KIA were thrilled, as you imagine, with the results.

“The Kia EV9 represents a new paradigm in the three-row SUV segment,” said Seungkyu (Sean) Yoon, president and CEO, Kia North America and Kia America. “For the second consecutive year, the three finalists have been EVs or included EVs as part of a larger lineup, which illustrates where the segment is headed. This win proves that EV9 is not only a top utility vehicle, but also an exemplary EV.”

The bottom line
