Riding the wave is an idiom for enjoying a period of success/good fortune. And that’s exactly how you can define Ducati’s racing run in 2023. Not only is it the bikemaker to beat in the MotoGP world championship, but that’s also the case in World Superbike and World Supersport. To celebrate its most successful racing year yet, the company has revealed a limited edition Panigale lineup inspired by its championship-dominating race bikes. These also flaunt the liveries of your favorite Ducati racers, be it in any of the three verticals.

Three Ducati Panigale V4 Limited Editions Celebrate The Top Racers In MotoGP

Three out of the five limited editions take inspiration from the Desmosedici GP race bikes, piloted by the top three MotoGP riders this year – Francesco Bagnaia, Jorge Martin, and Marzo Bezzechhi. The first one comes draped in an uber-special Giallo Ducati livery, reminiscent of the special colorway run by Pecco Bagnaia for the Riviera di Rimini GP at Misano World Circuit. It’s loaded with sponsor stickers and Bagnaia’s ‘1’ rider number for further pizazz.

The next Panigale V4 borrows its colors from Jorge Martin’s Desmosedici GP23–the same motorcycle that kept Bagnaia on his toes all year long. It adorns the Prima Pramac racing livery from head to toe, along with the racer’s #89 rider number. Then, there’s the Marco Bezzechhi-inspired V4. If you’re a Rossi fan, this might be the finest one for you, credit to its Mooney VR46 livery. The black base coat also makes it the most sinister option here.

To no one’s surprise, the trifecta of MotoGP-inspired Panigales has limited production. Here’s how many will be made:

  • Panigale V4 Bagnaia 2023 World Champion Replica – 263 units
  • Panigale V4 Martín 2023 Racing Replica – 189 units
  • Panigale V4 Bezzecchi 2023 Racing Replica – 72 units

The Other Panigale Limited Editions Celebrate Ducati’s Success In WSBK

From MotoGP, we move to WSBK and WSSP. The first edition celebrates Alvaro Bautista’s WSBK title, taking inspiration from his Panigale V4 R race bike from the Misano round. It comes draped in the Giallo Ducati livery (like the Bagnaia edition), complete with sponsor stickers and his #1 racing number. Ducati has further thrown in bespoke elements like a brushed aluminum tank, carbon fiber winglets, and grey Marchesini forged wheels to up the ante. Only 219 units will go on sale.

Last but not least is a limited edition of the Panigale V2. It’s inspired by Nicolo Bulega’s WSSP title-winning race bike, evident from the Aruba.it red/black livery. Only 111 examples of the V2 are destined to go on sale.

Each Limited Edition Ducati Panigale Comes With Bespoke Touches

Under the skin, the MotoGP and WSBK limited editions are based on the Panigale V4 S. So you get Ducati’s 1,103cc, V4 engine that produces 210 horsepower and 90.6 pound-feet in stock trim (for U.S.). This is topped by top-shelf underpinnings. A monocoque chassis joins hands with Ohlins USD forks and monoshock–both with full electronic adjustability. Brembo Stylema calipers and Marchesini wheels round off the standard package.

Aside from the usual bits, Ducati has equipped each limited edition Panigale with other niceties listed below.

Special Components On Limited Edition Ducati Panigale V4

  • Billet aluminum top triple clamp with bike name and number
  • Fuel tank signed by the rider
  • Rider seat with dedicated material and rider logo
  • Dedicated dashboard animation
  • Dedicated ignition key with bike number
  • Racing plexiglass
  • Akrapovič homologated silencer (4.4 pounds lighter)
  • STM-EVO SBK dry clutch
  • Adjustable, aluminum rider foot-pegs by Rizoma with carbon fiber heel guards
  • Machined brake and clutch levers
  • Front and rear carbon fiber mudguards (only for Bautista’s and Martin’s bike)
  • Swinging arm cover in carbon fiber and titanium
  • Single seat configuration

As for the Bulega edition V2, it employs a 955cc, twin-cylinder powerhouse with 155 horsepower and 76.7 pound-feet. Most of the above bits are also present here, in addition to dedicated Ohlins suspension in place of the standard Showa and Sachs units.
