The 2024 Toyota Tacoma price is out, and I’ve used the build-and-price tool to spec out what I’d like to buy for the channel. Get ready; it’s a doozy.

2024 Toyota Tacoma price
Before we get into our long-term review truck, the 2024 Toyota Tacoma price, via the build-and-price tool, actually starts quite low in today’s everything-costs-more world.
For example, the base crew cab SR trim starts at $32,995, including the $1,495 destination fee. The Tacoma Off-Road trim models we drove at the first-drive event were around $43,295 with destination.
Since the plan is to buy a 2024 Toyota Tacoma Off-Road, I thought the price would be right around $45,000 with a few options. Oh, how wrong I was.
Starting build price
I started my build at $41,800. I want the 5-foot bed, since I think that will come out first. Also, this is the popular configuration of crew cab and short bed and should be the volume seller. Then, I went with the gas-only version and 8-speed automatic since the hybrid Tacoma trucks don’t come out until next spring, and I want my truck by year’s end if possible.
This put me at $44,395 with destination.
The Blue Crush Metallic exterior color and black interior color are zero-cost options. Where Toyota gets you, however, is with the 26 optional packages. Yes, 26 different packages — with the first being heated seats for $585 all the way up to a $10,090 package.
A $10k optional package??
As crazy as this sounds, Toyota is offering a $10,090 optional package on the Tacoma Off-Road. Yes, a $10k package added on to a $40k price.
You can say I was a little surprised. I want my build with all the bells and whistles, and this means the $10k add on.
The TRD Off-Road Premium Package with options includes:
- Mudguards
- SofTex-trimmed seats with heated and ventilated 8-way power-adjustable front seats
- Leather-trimmed heated steering wheel
- 14-inch multimedia display
- Multi-Terrain Monitor
- JBL Premium Audio with JBL Flex portable speaker
- Moonroof
- Qi wireless charging
- Dual Zone Automatic Climate Control
- Front and Rear parking assist with automatic braking
- Pre-wired auxiliary switches
- AC power inverter
- Digital rearview mirror
- Towing Technology Package including trailer brake controller
- Power open/close tailgate
- Power horizontal rear window
- Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism
The interior color choice is only black after you add this package.
Basically, this is a fully loaded version of the Off-Road trim with a price of $54,485. Yes, nearly $55,000 for a midsize truck.
Keep in mind there are still the TRD Pro and Trailhunter models with even more features and technology coming next spring. My guess is they will be more than $60k after you price them out.
The bottom line
It used to be that Toyota trucks were cheap, reliable and the right size for most jobs. Now, they are bigger, a lot more expensive, and reliability is a question according to Consumer Reports.
